All that glitters is not gold.
Am I the only one who is not feeling all that great about the Democrats apparently having won the the Senate in addition to the House, because it would mean that Joe Lieberman would hold the balance of power? Lieberman is the out-of-the-closet Republican (the DINO) who got millions from the Republicans and who got 38% of his votes from Independents, 36% from Republicans and 26% from Democrats. What's to keep him from using his bargaining power to get powerful committee chair position(s) and controlling its proceedings and voting in support of BushCo or selling out completely and giving the Senate to the Republicans?

Nothing is a given in politics, and Joe is certainly more self-centered than many. He very well could switch parties now, and spend the next six years in Red.
If he does, I will automatically proceed to go into convulsions.
