There something funny about Jerry Lewis...

No, not that Jerry Lewis. The Jerry Lewis who is a Republican Congressman from California and the chairman of the all-important House Appropriations Committee. This Jerry Lewis and his associates are at the center of the ever-expanding Duke Cunningham corruption scandal. Josh Marshall, of TPM and TPMmuckraker fame, is all over this story and has an incredible chronicle of the skullduggery here. It's hard to believe just how blatantly corrupt these guys are. Read it for yourself, you'll see what I mean.

Interestingly, Josh uses two phrases which sound like they should mean opposite things but in fact they don't: "But it's actually worse than that" and "Well, it gets better". In this case, the latter just means a better example of the same bad thing -- more extreme -- and I bet you thought it couldn't get more blatant than Tom's Delay behaviour.
