Republicans for Lieberman

Does anyone else find it bizarre that some of the most numerous and vocal supporters of Sen. Joe Lieberman's re-elecion bid are neoconservative Republicans? They claim to be so concerned with the loss of such a moderate "centerist" Democrat from the Senate that they are imploring Connecticut Democrats not to allow fringe groups to cause the party to lurch leftwards.

This is so bizarre. The simple fact that the neoconservatives are supporting Lieberman is proof that he's no "centerist". Hell, the neoconservatives don't even support centerist Republicans. The other fact that seems to escape the neoconservatives is that the consensus now is decidedly anti-war, anti-Bush and anti-neoconservative. How can the majority be the fringe? It's the neoconservatives who are in the minority. Their extreme policy failures have marginaized them. This blatant example of psychological projection is akin to the ravings of the lunatic who screams: "You're all crazy!" at the world.

Truly bizarre...
