The start of a Smear Fitz campaign?

It would appear that the first shot may have been fired in the Smear Fitz campaign:

Kristol: The leak story is absurd, but I now think the whole prosecution is absurd.---I now think it's a politically motivated attempt to wound the Bush administration.---He is now out to discredit the Bush administration.

The word on the street is that the reason that the Rovians hadn't tried smearing Fitz earlier wasbecause he had the goods on Karl. So what do you think that this means? Is Bill just a maverick, doing this on his own? Or does this mean that Fitz is going to indict Rove? Or do things look so bad for them that the Rovians are desperate and feel that they have nothing to lose?

I don't know but it would seem that there messing with the wrong guy with Fitz. Time will tell...
